It’s just a couple more weeks until the premiere of batmanso these last days we have had a lot of interesting details related to the new movie of DC. We know that this feature film will tell a story of the character’s early years, and according to his director, it will also lay the groundwork for what will be his own cinematic universe.
In case you weren’t aware, batman exists within its own universe, that is, it is not part of the DCEU. This means that we will not see other characters from this publisher within the film, so Matt Reevesdirector, you have the freedom to shape this new universe as you see fit, and this is something that is definitely in your plans.
As part of a new interview with ew, Reeves revealed what his goal is batman in the grand scheme of things:
“What I really want this movie to do is create a Batverse… You don’t do a story and say, ‘This is Chapter 1,’ because you might not get to do Chapter 2. So the story had to hold. But what happens is that the world of Batman it is so rich in characters that when you are starting to come to an end, you can already start thinking about the next thing. Because the idea, of course, is that the story of Gotham never ends.”
So as you can see, Reeves wants to create his own “Bati-universe” with batman, one where we can get to know each character in greater detail. We don’t know what the future of this upcoming cinematic universe will look like, but the movie will definitely play a big role in its creation.
batman hits theaters on March 4, 2022.
Publisher’s note: Today everything must have its own cinematic universe, otherwise the project is considered a failure. I don’t really agree with this ideology, but I think the character of Batman lends itself quite well to it and we’ll see how Reeves builds it.
