The Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) delivered professional titles that have certifications and multivariable security.
This was done in an event that took place under the framework of the systemic reconversion that the UANL School and Archives Department has been carrying out for three years, to contemplate the migration of academic documents to electronic formats, using technology to the protection of personal data.
In this sense, the first phase of this process is already a reality with the delivery of physical titles and an electronic file with QR codes and a multivariable blockchain security chain.
In addition, surgeons, midwives, an accountant and an industrial engineer obtained their degrees in physical and digital format. It should be noted that the latter was through an electronic file that they downloaded to their mobile devices, together with the intern letter.
Even the graduate of the Bachelor of International Business Ana Karen Flores García did it, who linked from Norway and also received from the UANL rector, Santos Guzmán, her documents in real time in the European country.
According to statements made by the official news portal of the university, from now on all the degrees that are processed, in addition to the physical title on paper, will be able to have this document and the intern letter with QR codes free of charge. autograph signatures of the authorities and a blockchain that periodically changes its security. Thus becoming a digitization process that will be carried out by the UANL School and Archive Department in the next three years, with which it is proposed to reconvert the 39 official documents provided by the UANL into digital documents with their respective security.
The director of the UANL School and Archives Department, Lázaro Vargas Guerra, clarified that the physical document will not be replaced, but rather it will be an additional option to develop a digitalization culture.
“We are one of the pioneering universities at the national level (…). In fact, I believe, we are the first university in the world with degrees with multivariable data”, said Vargas Guerra.
