Among the many tests that DxOMark carries out on smartphones, there is also the one on audio and Oppo Reno4 Pro has been the subject of a review by the French site focused on this aspect.
Recall that as regards the audio characteristics of the device, this does not have an audio jack, but the Dolby Atmos technology is present. DxOMark tests examine various aspects of sound quality, which are divided into two main categories: audio playback and recording. The score assigned to the Oppo device is 61 points, with 61 points for audio playback and 59 for recording.
The judgment of the site is quite neutral: although the smartphone presents itself as a premium mid-range, the audio is only mid-range. However, this means that the quality is not lacking and is in line with what one would expect for such a device. Both the outgoing and recorded audio are well balanced and have a good volume, but as for the microphones, these are often occluded, which is why the recording is often not up to par.
