Text-only image-generating artificial intelligences have been all the rage for months. One of them, perhaps the most popular, is DALL-E 2. Now, you too can make use of it.
The software was in private beta, with long waits for access –by invitation– since January 2021. Now, OpenAI, the firm behind this AI, has announced that the wait is over and that they already have the necessary capabilities so that anyone who wants to can use the tool.
DALL-E 2: a future full of images of unknown origin
DALL-E 2 counts as a strong point with the creating new images from text descriptions. But it is capable of much more, like expanding the edges of an image to give context or editing existing photos to generate something new.
The phenomenon of images generated by artificial intelligence has flooded social networks and has been the focus of conversation in recent months, but it will be even more so in the future.
The company claims that 1.5 million users are currently creating more than 2 million images daily.

From OpenAI they have implemented a series of filters and measures that will allow a more responsible use of the system, they assure:
Learning from real-world use has allowed us to improve our security systems, making wider availability possible today. In recent months, we’ve strengthened our filters to reject attempts to generate sexual, violent, and other content that violates our content policy, and created new detection and response techniques to stop misuse.
