The end of the second season of The Mandalorian brought one of the most shocking cameos to the series, something that was kept under wraps for more than a year (spoiler notice)
The last episode of the second season of The Mandalorian has given a lot to talk about since its premiere, not only because of the wonder of the chapter in a series that has been surpassed each week of release and its fanservice and references to the Star Wars universe, If not for the cameo he gave us, something that the studio and the actor himself have managed to keep in the highest secret for more than a year.
Mark Hamill says keeping that cameo from The Mandalorian a secret for more than a year is “nothing short of a miracle. ” The Mandalorian Season 2 finale, Chapter 16, “The Rescue,” sees Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin, Cara Dune (Gina Carano), Boba Fett (Temeura Morrison), Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), Bo -Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Koska Reeves (Sasha Banks) setting off to save Grogu (Baby Yoda) from Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) and his remnant of the Galactic Empire. While Gideon’s Imperial Cruiser operates with only a small crew, a garrison of Dark Troopers complicates the rescue mission.
Despite Mando depressurizing the hangar where the Dark Troopers were located and launching them into space, they return at the climax of the episode. Mando, Grogu, a captured Gideon and the rest of the Mandalorian’s allies are trapped on the bridge; with the Dark Troopers pounding on the armored door of the bridge to get to them. At that moment, an X-Wing enters the cruiser and the pilot exiting it is a mysterious hooded figure who proceeds to cut through the Dark Troopers with his green lightsaber. Although many fans didn’t believe it until his face was revealed, this Jedi turns out to be Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) himself. The cameo was achieved using Hamill’s voice and face, as well as an understudy, Max Lloyd-Jones. Since then,
Hamill recently spoke on Twitter about keeping his latest role in The Mandalorian a secret: “The fact that we were able to keep my involvement a secret for over a year without leaks is nothing short of a miracle. A real win for spoiler haters everywhere! ” In an age where it is virtually impossible to keep entire plots (let alone cameos) a secret, Hamill is just as shocked and excited as everyone else. Disney + doesn’t necessarily release episodes of The Mandalorian at a convenient time; some people will see them immediately while others have to wait to see it later and almost immediately after the end of the second season was available, Twitter ignited with a debate about the publication of spoilers online. Some argued that #TheMandalorian should be muted, not allowing users to use that hashtag when posting spoilers. Regardless, Hamill’s most recent posts on social media have been accompanied by a photo of him hinting at “shhh.” In addition to Hamill’s cameo, “The Rescue” features a post-credits scene announcing The Book of Boba Fett series. for Disney +, furthering the demand for spoiler-free speech.
