Thanks for all the delivery. Luciana Perez! If a few days ago, our country was waiting for the path marked by Juan Pablo Varillas at Roland Garros (he reached the round of 16, where he met Novak Djokovic), the truth is that attention continued in the tennis, but this time in the Junior category contest, in the female branch. It happens that our 18-year-old compatriot reached the final of the tournament, where this Saturday she faced the Russian Alina Korneeva.
Luciana Perezwho currently occupies position 8 in the ITF (International Tennis Federation) women’s ranking, lost with partials of 6-7 and 6-3 against the Russian Alina Korneeva (3 ITF) in the clay of Paris. Now, beyond this result, the Peruvian tennis player -without a doubt- made a great presentation throughout the championship.
To reach this stage, our compatriot left the Russian Nikola Daubnerova on the road, with partial scores of 6-0 and 6-3; the Czech Alena Kovackova, 6-3 and 6-1; the French Astrid Lew Yan Foon, 6-4 and 7-5; and in the semifinals she also beat the Russian Anastasiia Gureva, 7-6 and 7-5.
It should be noted that the runner-up achieved by the national tennis player adds to the great pages of this sport, since she is the first Peruvian to play this stage in a Grand Slam. Laura Arraya reached the semifinals in 1981 and Bianca Botto the quarterfinals in 2009.
