After multiple delays and several months of headaches for Elon Muskthe CEO of Tesla, the electric car company’s Cybertruck will finally go into mass production in 2024.
As reported by a report Engadgetquoted on the website of BGRMusk confirmed on the company’s latest earnings call that the Cybertruck won’t go into mass production until next year.
The tycoon said the truck should start production sometime this summerbut that customers can’t expect many to roll off the production line this year.
Musk still expects manufacturing to begin “sometime this summer,” but cautioned thate production would be “very slow” from the beginning. Tesla is still in the midst of installing assembly equipment, and in the meantime, its CEO has time to congratulate the team at the factory in California.
Will they keep the promise of 2024?
The Cybertruck was first unveiled in November 2019. The futuristic-looking vehicle quickly generated excitement and pre-orders from buyers eager to get their hands on the strange but interesting car.
However, the truck has faced multiple delays and will likely end up in a different price range than originally promised: it started in the 40 thousand dollars.
Despite historical and potential future delays, it will be pretty exciting to see the Cybertruck start to hit the road en masse, as long as the company can make deliveries and customers keep up with pre-orders.
The truck boasts a range of up to 500 miles per charge, a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds, and the ability to go from 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds.
Beware: Since the Cybertruck has already been delayed several times, Elon Musk’s assurance that mass production will start next year should be interpreted with skepticism. Tesla has earned a reputation for setting target dates for product launches and failing to meet them..
