Teslathe manufacturer of luxury electric vehicles, will repair with a software update about 1.1 million cars that suffer from a defect in their system of raising and lowering the windows.
Tesla informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the US federal authority, that it will apply the software update remotely to models 3 (2017-2022), Y (2020-2021), S (2021-2022) and X (2021-2022).

The problem discovered in August of this year prevents the window up and down system from detecting obstructions, which can cause serious injury if a hand gets caughta finger or other body part.
The car company has not received any reports of injuries caused by the problem.
On November 15, Tesla will officially communicate by letter to the owners of the affected vehicles about the software update to repair the defect.
Additionally, vehicle owners will receive a notification on the Tesla mobile phone app as well as on the car screen.
Since September 13, the cars produced by Tesla already incorporate the software update for the window up and down system.
