The National Government of Colombia implemented the social program Families in Action with the main purpose of improving the living conditions of the most disadvantaged families in the country. This approach specifically targets households that suffer from extreme poverty, moderate poverty, and economic vulnerability.
In line with the above, towards the end of 2022, President Gustavo Petro announced that the program would come to an end. However, to replace it, the Hunger Shock Plan began to be implemented, and a special payment in the form of a bonus was granted to families that previously received the subsidy.
In addition, there will be a transition from public policies that included Families in Action, Solidarity Income, Youth in Action, among others, which provided financial support to low-income people, towards a new program called Citizen Income.
How to know if you enter the targeting of Families in Action?
The most recent payment period of the Familias en Acción program began on December 26, 2022 and ended on January 15, 2023. However, all citizens are being urged to update their information in the Sisbén, since this platform is the only one used for targeting.
Based on the results of the evaluation, the families that are in a situation of extreme poverty, moderate poverty or economic vulnerability will be selected and, therefore, have a greater need to receive the support of the following programs that the Government will provide: as Citizen Income.

If you want to verify if your family is a beneficiary of the Familias en Acción social program, you can access the website: targeted families.prosperidadsocial.gov.co/. Once there, you must follow the following steps:
- Select the option ‘Check here if it is targeted’.
- Enter the type of document you have, such as an identity card, citizenship card, civil registry or foreigner’s card.
- Enter the corresponding document number.
- Write your first name followed by the first last name.
- Indicates the date of issue of the document.
- Finally, select the box that indicates ‘I am not a robot’ and wait for the system to verify the information.
