Crazy simulators have been appearing more and more frequently in recent generations of consoles. One of the engines that has driven this trend is the ease of access to the tools that indie developers have to carry out their crazy ideas.
Over the years we have been receiving crazy deliveries that allowed us to put ourselves in the shoes of a slice of bread in I Am Bread, from an abandoned train station restorer in Train Station Renovation or even the simulation of a rock in Rock simulator.
Today we bring you the Surgeon Simulator 2 review, sequel to the fun game of Pc that comes for the first time to consoles of Microsoft, which comes from the hand of Bossa Studios and which is available at launch at Xbox Game Pass.
Surgeon Simulator 2 Review – Xbox Series X
Welcome to Bossa Labs
Surgeon Simulator 2 puts us in the shoes of a surgeon who will have as main mission to heal Bob, an omnipresent patient in each of our interventions. Throughout the campaign we will discover some of the mysteries hidden in the Bossa Labs medical facilities.
After a complete tutorial, the game will place us in the main room of Bossa Labs and from there we can select any of the available game modes. Surgeon Simulator 2 offers us a proposal for one or more players, we can enjoy its fun campaign alone or accompanied by up to three more players.
We will also have a Free mode in which we will compete against other players in chaotic and crazy online interventions. And as if this were not enough, we can create our own levels and share them with the community, as well as search for new ones through its complete search system for levels created by other players.
Put on your gloves
On Surgeon Simulator 2, as in its first part, we take the role of a surgeon in the first person. After the first bars of the game we will observe that we are faced with a somewhat complex control system, but that will allow us to do a lot of actions. Through a combination of buttons we will take control of your left arm, being able to control the twist of the wrist and its extension.
Control system requires time and adaptation to be able to do everything in the operating room with ease and many times it will make our clumsiness or our own depth perception play tricks on us that will not help Bob’s health at all. The general structure of the levels could be summarized in detecting what health problem Bob suffers from and curing it with our own means, taking care of the blood level of our patient at all times.
We will have to carry out all kinds of interventions, from heart transplants to limb replacement and for this we will have a wide variety of tools such as the scalpel to extract organs, the saw to cut limbs or the hammer to break the ribs and access the rib cage.
As you can imagine, with these utensils Bob’s physical condition may deteriorate a bit before healing, either because we tear off a limb or an organ, or also because of our own clumsiness when using a saw, generating in all cases a hemorrhage in our poor patient that we must stop by means of the yellow syringes, which they stop the bleeding and the red ones that replenish Bob’s blood level.
Each of the intervention rooms is full of objects with which to interact and do crazy things, thanks to its fun physics engine and they are designed to be enjoyed in company, inviting us to improve the times of the interventions.
These levels have a classification that we will obtain if we fulfill the challenges that are given to us at the beginning, these challenges will unlock new customizable elements for our character. The game has a large number of customizable aspects, we can choose between four different characters and customize them to our liking, changing the gowns, gloves, hats and other accessories that we will unlock as we play.
Code Red, We Have A Code Red!
In the visual, Surgeon Simulator 2 it follows in the wake of many games of the genre, it presents us with an aspect close to the cartoon, but very well defined, allowing us to identify at all times what organ we are dealing with or what instruments we need.
For the sound part, the game has nice melodies that remind us of other medical games like Two Point Hospital or Theme Hospital. It also has a correct English dubbing of his campaign mode, which is fully translated into Spanish.
Technically, Surgeon Simulator 2 works to 4K on Xbox series x, but it lacks some long loading times that shock us a lot to what we are used to in this new generation of consoles.
conclusion
Surgeon Simulator 2 is a fun game to enjoy alone and in company, which offers us a wide playable variety, as well as a limited editor and community level finder, which will make you laugh more than once in the tension of the operating room.
