The trinity of Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman and Cavill, Gadot and Affleck was great from its inception, these costume tests confirm it.
Despite the great actors of the past, such as Christopher Reeve, Lynda Carter and Michael Keaton, and without demeaning the interpreters that we will surely see in the future, hopefully far away, for several generations this will be the definitive DC Trinity. And it is that, from their costume tests, it was clear that Henry Cavill, Gal Gadoy and Ben Affleck were born to give life to Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman in the cinema.
For the pure love of superheroes, we recovered some images of the costume tests of these actors, which when you see we assure you that you will get excited again.
Costume fitting of Henry Cavill as Superman
In 2013, Henry Cavill debuted as Superman in Man of Steel. As Zack Snyder himself has documented: “We didn’t have the suit made when Henry was auditioning, so he wore the original Christopher Reeve suit. He put it on and when he came out of the trailer, everyone was like, ‘Hell, you’re Superman!’ However, shortly before the director himself doubted Cavill: “All I could think was, my God, they will look at me and say: ‘He is not Superman. Not a chance. The actor inside me was saying, ‘You’re not ready! You’re not ready! ‘… He walked out and no one laughed. Other actors wear that suit and it’s a joke, even if they are great actors. Henry put it on and he exuded this kind of calm, crazy confidence that made me go, ‘Wow. Okay, this is Superman. ‘
On another occasion, Snyder wrote: “This was the shot I did to show the studio that this was my Superman… they agreed,” Snyder wrote. “I got the suit from Warner’s wineries and Henry honored his legacy.”
Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman
In 2016, Cavill returned as the Man of Steel for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and this time he was accompanied by the aforementioned Bat Man and the surprising Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
On his arrival at the DC cinema there are several images, some from behind the scenes and extra material from the blu-ray edition of the film. However, we are left with the two shared by the actress.
Along with this image, on Instagram, the actress wrote: “This photo was taken by Zack Snyder the day I did the camera test for Batman vs Superman with Ben. I came to Los Angeles for 30 hours while filming a movie in Tel Aviv. But she wanted the role of Wonder Woman so much that it was worth the trip. I will always be grateful to Zack for choosing me and believing that I could bring Diana to life. I had no idea what the future held when this photo was taken; Seeing her makes me very nostalgic. It is also proof that everything happens for a reason. I was about to stop acting … and then this happened. “
But without a doubt, our favorite image is this selfie of Gal herself in her wardrobe test shared on her Twitter account. In it he wrote: I found this little reminder of one of my first tests … It seems like it was a long time ago, but at the same time it was yesterday, do you know that feeling? #TB “.
Ben Affleck as Batman
The same movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice saw the arrival of Affleck as the Dark Knight. His arrival at the movies is very well documented, as evidenced by the following images from the costume fitting, the camera fitting, and the first image Snyder shared of his Batman.
However, our favorite image is the most recent one shared by the filmmaker, which shows Batffleck without the hood, just the suit. However, when seeing it it is clear that the role was waiting for the actor to achieve an unforgettable duo:
