Actor Tyler Hoechlin reveals why Superman and Lois is a separate series and doesn’t tie in with the other shows in the Arrowverse.
Tyler Hoechlin started his career as the man of steel in the series super girlthen it was gaining importance especially in the crossed events of the arrowverse and now he stars in the series Superman and Lois. Although these stories that we see, are part of another Universe.
In the fan expo vancouverone of the attendees asked Tyler Hoechlin because the rest of the series were not crossed with Superman and Lois. This is how the actor replied:
“I would say there are so many different layers to that, especially for us last year having COVID. I know there were crossover ideas and they were immediately scrapped. I mean even keeping your own production running was so difficult that it completely squashed it.”
“For me, knowing what Bitsie (Elizabeth Tulloch) and I had done on the previous shows and how we had our little boy before we got into this world of having two teenagers. It just had to make sense in my mind how we got there and for me it was a clean slate. Because otherwise I would be asking questions. What happened to our baby? He said Tyler Hoechlinreferring to how the super event Crisis on Infinite Earths rewrote reality.
“So for me, just to clarify and make it easier for me to get into what we were doing with Superman and Lois I just cut it off and started over. So for us right now, at least the way I’m approaching it. It’s just that for me, the only memory I have like this Clark is that this has been my life with these guys and that’s how I’m approaching it. So who knows, time will tell with the rest.”
The second season of Superman and Lois is currently airing on hbo max. It’s interesting enough to be independent. That is why no crossover is necessary with the rest of the members of the arrowverse What Flash, super girl or Legends of Tomorrow.
