the developer sucker-punch has wanted to issue a statement as its 25th anniversary approaches since its studio opened its doors for the first time to create the legacy of characters and stories, starting with Rocket: Robot on Wheels, through the remembered Sly Cooper and inFAMOUS, to end the recent Ghost of Tsushima. The surprise has been that the company wanted to confirm that in his plans is not to resurrect any of his past sagas.
“As our games continue to grow in scale and complexity, our studio’s full attention is required.“, begin the notice. “With the approach we have in our current project, we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper at this time“, advances the study, which as if that were not enough emphasizes: “no other studio is currently working on projects related to these franchises“.
These characters are very special and near and dear to our hearts, so while we would never say we would never open those doors again in the future, there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development at this time.
goodbye to a dream
Of course, the statement has completely broken many players who wanted to live new adventures with Sly Cooper or immerse themselves in a new adventure within the inFamous saga. It has long been known to all that Sucker Punch is working on the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, or in an open world game, but what was not expected is that the notorious return of Sly Cooper and a new Infamous was false.
All that said, Sucker Punch has promised to move inFamous 2’s servers to keep them running “for a little while longer”, while Cole’s Legacy DLC for inFamous Second Son will be released on PlayStation Store soon. Of course, we don’t think it’s enough for the saga…
