- A student from the Center for Scientific and Technological Studies exhibits in Zoom a teacher who expels students for not having a good internet
A student from the Center for Scientific and Technological Studies (Cecyt) exhibited in Zoom his teacher who expels his students for not having a good internet.
“We do not all have the same possibilities,” was what the student responded to his teacher after he mentioned that those students who do not have a good internet connection “go outside.”
The fact has once again put a delicate issue of inequality on the table: not all students have a good internet connection and not all can afford better network service.
It is not the first time that it has happened and it is something that, without a doubt, has been more reflected since the pandemic led students to take refuge in online classes, a practice that even forced thousands of students to leave their schools.
The online classes were a mirror of what is happening in many sectors of Mexican society, since it suggested that, in the middle of 2021, the internet continues to be a luxury that few can afford, which, in days of pandemic and Covid-19 , speaks of the great inequality that prevails in several countries.
This day, in a new school year that is still carried out in a virtual way, a new case of abuse of authority by the teacher towards his students, was made known through a class by Zoom.
There, a student who goes by the name of Alan Parangueo faced his teacher after he threatened to expel those students who did not have a good internet connection.
The aforementioned student affirmed that not everyone has the same possibility of having good access to the network, which started a small discussion between the two.
In addition, Parangueo took advantage of the situation to record it with his phone and upload it to his profile on TikTok, where the video already has 955 thousand “likes”.

However, the event did not stop there, but, through Twitter, the student also denounced his teacher, asking that this case reach the competent authorities:
“Our teacher from the 51V41 group takes out of class the students who do not have the camera turned on, even if we explain our problems to him. He refuses to empathize and lend himself to understand that not all students have the same possibilities, opportunities, etc., to have good cell phones, computers, internet. We don’t all have the same resources and you don’t have to be a genius to understand that, ”is what he wrote on Twitter.
Undoubtedly, we have witnessed how the use of social networks can serve to highlight practices that, in some way, are harming users, in this case, young people, especially in a context where, because of Covid-19, greater empathy is needed, which is what, finally, the student in question was asking for.
Likewise, by being aired on social networks, it puts the institution in an important situation to take measures that guarantee, above all, respect for their colleagues.
