Prepare your little one’s muscles to take the next step: walk!
Starting at six months of age, you will notice important advances in your baby’s mobility and, beyond forcing him to walk, the best thing is to help him strengthen the muscles of his little legs. In this way, when the time comes, you will have no discomfort and it will be much easier for you to let go. We suggest five different activities to stimulate it:
Matronatation
Little ones love water! For a few years, there has been a special swimming modality for mothers and babies that is highly recommended: micronation . Among its many benefits, this exercise increases your muscle strength thanks to exercises that promote the early development of your psychomotor skills, such as crawling or walking. In addition, the movements of the water relax the baby and stimulate his appetite. With this they also sleep better.
Stand up while holding a piece of furniture
It’s something all babies do, even before they crawl, and it’s the best exercise! Also, they love it: they feel the ground under their feet, perceive their own weight and play to bear it. It’s part of your walking preparation: doing it works your legs and glutes. Let your little one roam on his own, of course, with full supervision.
Take advantage of the routine
If you are a working mom and you don’t have time to take him to swimming lessons or to put him to do exercises at home, take advantage of the routine activities of the day, for example: when he is in the tub, encourage him to splash around with his legs; when you change his diaper, he moves his little legs by stretching and shrinking them, as if pedaling; Lay him face down on a play mat and set him in front of some of his favorite toys for him to try to reach out and grab. In a very short time these movements will become a habit and he will seek to do more advanced ones, such as crawling.
Let me crawl
It may seem somewhat dirty to you, since they spend all day on the floor but, it is the stage before walking. This exercise, in addition to strengthening your legs, stimulates the paravertebral musculature, your lumbar vertebrae, abdominals and helps you to have an erect posture. Its two cerebral hemispheres are also connected for the first time.
Put him to crawl at home, to imitate the way of walking of animals like the crab, cat or dog, that will make his activity more fun!
Also the little feet…
Have him walk barefoot or in very light footwear that allows his foot, at every step, to make the whole supportive journey (from heel to big toe). Reinforced footwear is the worst in an immature foot: if the shoe is attached to the ankle, it will lose strength, it will no longer do part of its function and its joint will be weak.
In order for your baby to develop to the maximum, he must wear a diaper that allows him to move freely. Only Huggies Ultra Comfort gives it to you, because it is the only Ultra-thin, Ultra- Flexible and Ultra-absorbent diaper. Your baby will feel safe and comfortable to move as he wants and where he wants, nothing will stop him!
