The fourth season of Stranger Things is going to be divided into two, the first part arrives on May 27 on Netflix, while the second on July 1. But to understand what’s coming, we review what happened in the previous season, read more here!
We are almost a week away from seeing Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max and company in the fourth season of stranger things, which premieres May 27 on Netflix. Anyway, let’s remember that on that date only the first part arrives, the remaining chapters will be released on July 1. For this, we are going to recap what happened in the previous season, so we have the important events very fresh.
If you are not up to date with Stranger Things, beware of spoilers. In the third season, which took place in Hawkins during the summer of ’85, the first thing we notice is that the protagonists of the series are already grown up. Already stepping into adolescence, the boys are beginning their love relationships: on the one hand Mike Y raise (under the gaze of hopperwho is like the overprotective dad of 11), and on the other Max and Lucas. We also have the distance relationship between Dustin Y suziewho gave us an epic musical moment in the middle of a key situation.
In this season, our young protagonists not only faced the Mind Flayerwho returns with an army through a small crack in the Upside Down, but they also have to stop a group of undercover Russians who want to reopen the portal. As it happens, the Russians’ base of operations is hidden just below the Hawkins Mall.
What stranger things has several characters (and many who joined), the third season had different subplots, which served to give relevance to each of the protagonists. In this way, everyone had their important moments, although some always stand out more than others. For this, we will go in parts.
On one hand we have Dustin Already Stevea duo that from the second season became the favorite of many. Steve Now he works at an ice cream parlor in the Hawkins mall, along with Robina funny and intelligent girl who will be the key to deciphering a secret message (or rather, a secret Russian transmission) that Dustin find. However, this group had one more addition that many did not see coming: Ericathe younger sister of Luke. The four of them begin to investigate what the Russians are up to and give us some of the funniest moments of the season.
Related to what they investigate Dustin, Steve, Erica Y Robin, there is another group that goes on the same side. Joyce Y hopper they get more involved in the secret plans that the Russians have in Hawkins thanks to a scientist they kidnap. The latter reveals details of what they are doing in the Russian base of operations to open the portal to Upside Down. However, to understand what the Russian is saying, they ask a character we met in the previous season for help: Murray. These four characters will prevent the portal from reopening.
Leaving the Russian theme, we have the duo of Nancy Y Jonathan, who were in charge of deciphering some mysteries that were happening in Hawkins. Within these mysteries are why people were disappearing in the town and what had happened to them, why the rats seemed possessed, and how the Mind Flayer he rebuilt himself (through the organic matter of his victims).
This leads us to talk about Billythe older brother of Max. He in the third season was like the great villain, since the Mind Flayer had possessed him. And, as this creature of the Upside Down wants revenge on raise for nearly destroying him earlier, he plans to kill her, her friends, and basically everyone else.
This is where all the subplots come together. To stop the Mind Flayer They have to close the portal that the Russians opened under the Hawkins mall, but raise she can’t help that much because she lost her powers after being attacked by that creature. However, she and the rest of the characters face this huge beast already. Billywhile hopper Y Joyce They go straight to close the portal.
During the battle against Mind Flayer, Eleven reminds you of Billy a moment from his childhood for him to come to, causing him to directly confront the creature and sacrifice himself to protect both raiseAs to the rest of the boys, including her sister Max. At that moment, Joyce close the gate to Upside Down and not only do we see how he dies Mind Flayerbut also give us to understand that hopper is another of the characters that we will not see again.
However, the post-credits scene of the third season gives us to understand that hopper It is imprisoned in a Russian facilities, as we see soldiers speak of an American (and also what we saw in the trailer coming chapters). In addition, in those same facilities they seem to have a demogorgon (yes, these bugs never go away) as a pet and they feed it with the prisoners.
Months after defeating the villain, Joyce becomes the tutor raise and, next to Will Y Jonathan they leave Hawkins to start from scratch. In this way, our group of protagonists separates: Mike, Lucas, Dustin Y Max on one side and raise Y Will for the other.
So there we are. In the fourth season we will have three different locations and plot lines to follow: Hawkins, California and Russia. And not to mention the Upside Down which, it seems, is going to be a central theme for the next chapters. If it wasn’t very clear, Netflix uploaded a summary of all the important events of the third season of stranger things or there is always the option to rewatch the episodes.
Recall that part one comes to Netflix on May 27, while the second will premiere on July 1, paving the way for the fifth and final season.
