There is still a whole year to go before we see Starfield on store shelves, but Bethesda wanted to start introducing the game universe soon and has published a small preview on the narrative context of the game that gives new details about the story and future enemies. As well as new conceptual art images on some of the scenarios that will be visited in the galaxy.
In a clip of just a minute and a half, Emil Pagliarulo, design director at Bethesda Games Studios, explains that Starfield takes place in the year 2330 and is located in ‘The Settled Systems’, a solar system that is only 50 light years from ours. 20 years before, the two great factions of the place, ‘The United Colonies’ and ‘Freestar Collective’ they started a bloody colonial war. Now, there is a complicated period of peace between the factions, but the solar system is still a dangerous place where they take shelter. mercenaries, religious fanatics, and bandits of all kinds.
Apart from all this is ‘Constellation’, an organization committed to uncovering the mysteries of ‘The Settled Systems’, leading players to venture into the deepest corners of the galaxy as the newest member of the expedition.
Beyond this first forward on the universe of the game, this small clip shows new art illustrations that can be used to get an idea of the different environments that we will find in this intergalactic journey. From futuristic metropolis to dark alleys with shops and neon lights or inhospitable, boggy-looking space wastes. Also shows preliminary character skins for some factions.
Starfield is dated for the next November 11, 2022 exclusively for Xbox Series X | S and PC. We’ll see if until then, Bethesda continues to publish newspapers of this style on a regular basis. Until then, check out the Starfield presentation trailer.
