Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment officially announced Star Wars Jedi: Survivorthe sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order that put the games in the franchise back on the radar. The first cinematic teaser debuted at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and shows a Cal Kestis facing various dangers, including the Grand Inquisitor.

The sequel will be directed by Stig Asmussenresponsible of Jedi: Fallen Order, and takes place five years after the events of the original game. The teaser doesn’t offer much story information, other than a Cal Kestis continuing to escape from the Empire while the Grand Inquisitor questions his intentions.

There are several important details to highlight in the teaser of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The first is that Cal Kestis’ lightsaber is in the possession of the Grand Inquisitor, probably after losing it in battle. One scene shows a mysterious character floating inside a container, likely a Jedi who survived the purge of the Empire.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will see the return of the beloved BD-1, who accompanies Kestis on his dangerous mission. No confirmation on other characters from Jedi: Fallen Order. If we remember, Cal Kestis escapes with his life from a confrontation with Darth Vader and reunites with his allies, Greez, Cere and Merrin.

The first game concludes with a cutscene where Kestis obtains from the Holocron a list of children who could become Jedi. Confident that his fate should be decided by the Force, the protagonist destroys the artifact so that it does not fall into the hands of the Empire.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will arrive in 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series and PC

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be developed by Respawn Entertainment and led by the same team that Jedi Fallen Order. Game director Stig Asmussen mentioned that the idea of ​​a sequel had been around since before the first game was completed.
