Spotify’s entry into the audiobook market is now official. Its catalog consists of 300 thousand titles and will be available in the United States in the main application.
Although audiobooks represent a market share of between 6% and 7%, it is a sector that grows by 20% every year.
Spotify audiobooks are now part of the other proposals that the platform already offers such as streaming, music, podcasts, with which it hopes to satisfy everyone’s listening needs.
Users will be able to access audiobooks from a section in your library. There they will be able to search for the titles of their interest and access recommendations based on their interests.
When users purchase an audiobook, it will appear in your library and you can listen to the content without the need for an Internet connection. It will also have the bookmark function to continue listening where you left off. Users will be able to comment and rate the audiobooks.
