Sony has just published another exclusive of PlayStation consoles on PC this week, because Marvel’s Spider-Man just hit the Steam store. This was one of the most anticipated releases by the PC community and had a very successful launch, but it failed to top Santa Monica Studios’ God of War.
God of War hit the Steam store earlier this year and has since become PlayStation’s most successful release on PC, reaching 73,529 concurrent players at launch. For its part, Marvel’s Spider-Man reached 64,893making it just under 10,000 short of becoming number one.

According to SteamDB data, the number of concurrent SteamDB players hasn’t decreased much in the last day, which is normal considering that it is one of the most acclaimed games of the last generation and one of the few games for an AAA player arriving on the platform recently. However, it is possible that the number of players will decrease when they start to finish the game.
Meanwhile, God of War remains the PlayStation game that has reached the highest number of concurrent players on Steam, followed by Marvel’s Spider-Man. Third place goes to Horizon Zero Dawn, which reached 56,557, while fourth place goes to Days Gone with only 27,450 concurrent players.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is a game developed by Insomniac Games but the Steam port was developed by Nixxes, one of the best porting studios that was acquired by Sony just over a year ago.
