A doctor specializing in otolaryngology has published a video through her TikTok account, dra.oido, where she removes a tick from the inside of a patient’s ear.
According to what was commented by the specialist, the 32-year-old patient went to see the health professional claiming that she had the sensation of a slight noise inside her ear.
According to what was commented by the specialist doctor, this was the only symptom that the young woman presented. Continuing with the story of the doctor, when introducing the camera to verify the state of the eardrum, he noticed the presence of the tick inside the ear canal.
The specialist proceeded with the extraction of the tick from the patient’s ear using a suction cannula so that the patient would not be bothered as much during the procedure.

What are the risks of ticks for humans?
According to the Medline Plus site, the hard and soft bodied females are thought to produce a poison that can cause tick paralysis in children.
Most ticks do not carry disease, but some carry bacteria or other organisms that can cause:
- Colorado tick fever
- Lyme’s desease
- Rocky Mountain spotted fever
- tularemia
These and other diseases can cause damage to the heart, nervous system, kidney, adrenal glands, and liver, and can lead to death.
What to do in case of a tick bite?
