Announcement season for the video game industry isn’t complete without a Nintendo presentation, and today we woke up to a new Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, where they showcased games from their third-party partners coming to the Nintendo Switch this year. One of them was Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope from Ubisoft.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope was announced at the Ubisoft Forward that was held for E3 2021, where it was confirmed that director Davide Soliani was back, with Grant Kirkhope in charge of music. This time Mario and his friends will not only tour the Mushroom Kingdom, but the entire universe starting on October 20, 2022, when Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope arrives on the Nintendo Switch.

In the trailer presented at today’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase we were able to take a deeper look at how the gameplay has changed in this installment compared to the previous one, as Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope introduces new gameplay mechanics and an improvement to the mobility system that Mario & Rabbids: Kingdom Battle had.
Mario & Rabbits: Sparks of Hope combines turn-based tactics with real-time action, as the characters are able to move freely in their area before using their weapons. It will once again be possible to dash to attack enemies and jump on top of your teammates to increase your range of movement, in addition to introducing new mechanics.
The Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope story features Cursa and his minions, who are kidnapping Sparks across the galaxy. The Sparks are a strange fusion between the Rabbits and the Lumas, so it’s no surprise to learn that this time Rosalina (and Rabbid Rosalina) will be part of the story. Furthermore, the trailer confirmed that Bowser is also joining Mario’s team in this installment.
Finally, Ubisoft announced a special presentation dedicated to Mario + Rabbits: Sparks of Hope for tomorrow June 29 through its YouTube channel, which will start at 9:00 am PT (11:00 am CDMX).
