The Spanish startup Vottun will incorporate its Blockchain technology to Finhava, a hotel circular economy project in Mallorca, as reported by Alimarket Hoteles this past October 25 through its digital medium.
The objective of this new technological alliance is to be able to carry out the necessary traceability in the collection of organic matter in the various hotel establishments that participate in the Finhava project, in the Spanish town of Mallorca.
Traceability will be possible thanks to the incorporation of the Blockchain solution “VottunSustainability“, Which guarantees the traceability of the process that develops the interrelation between the chains in a safe and reliable way.
Also participating in conjunction with Vutton for the incorporation of Blockchain technology, the companies of the primary sector Agromallorca, Son March, Fruites Hughet, Al & Verd and Agricola Dalmau; as well as the hotel chains Meliá Hotels International, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, Riu Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International and Hotels Viva.
The purpose of the Finhava project is the recycling of organic matter in hotel chains for its proper processing and transformation in Tirme, which will be distributed later in agricultural companies.
For the economic effects and for the environmental impact of the process, the CO2 footprint will be implemented to guarantee greater traceability and identify the production and the product’s journey in a digitized way, guaranteeing the origin of the product.
Tirme, which is a waste management company that has been working in an economically circular way, will be a fundamental axis for this process together with Vottun in this traceability process with Blockchain technology, one of the first of its kind in Europe.
