As the months have passed since Google released the final version of Android 11 for the Pixel range, the number of manufacturers that are updating their terminals to the latest version of Android is increasing at a slower rate than might be expected. The latest manufacturer to release the corresponding update is Sony.
Sony has just launched, as announced at the end of November, the update to Android 11 for the Xperia 10 II, a phone with 5G technology that was launched on the market in February 2020, although it did not reach other countries until the middle of the year.
According to the guys at XDA Forum and we can also read on Reddit, this update includes the security patch for the month of December and for now, it has begun to be available in Southeast Asia, so it is a matter of days, or such once a week that it reaches the rest of the countries where Sony has commercialized this terminal.
Sony does not usually make many changes with respect to the official version that Google releases on the market, as long as they are not limited by the system hardware, so owners of this model will be able to enjoy most, if not all, of the functions that have come from the hand of the eleventh version of Android such as the new multimedia controls, notifications of conversations, bubbles, the possibility of recording the screen, new smart home controls…
This update is lighter than you might initially expect, taking up less than a GB. Even so, if you want the update to be downloaded as soon as possible and you do not want to use your data rate, you should wait for the moment when you start charging your terminal every night. Of course, remember to make a backup before, you never know if something may call during the update process.
