Sony has just launched its new website called “PlayStation games for PCAs the name suggests, it shows PlayStation Studios games that are currently available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as games that it plans to release in the near future.
The site currently showcases Predator Hunting Grounds, Helldivers, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, and the recently released Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. Under the “coming soon” tab, you’ll see that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is coming this fall, and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection later this year.
The site’s FAQ reiterates a statement made on another site. PlayStationwhich states that players are not required to have a PSN account “currently” in order to play any of the games mentioned, although many seem to think this implies that such a requirement is yet to come.
The FAQ also points out that all games support DualShock 4 and DualSense controllers, and that owning a game on PS4 or PS5 doesn’t mean you can play it on your PC. pc (outside the Ranged Game, of course).
An interesting addition is a question about save files. “Currently, it is not possible to transfer your save data from the PS4 or PS5 version to the PC version of a PlayStation Studios title,” the site notes, although this leaves the door open for a possible implementation.
Sony’s ambitions for PC gaming could be more than just a few ports and a new website. Spider-Man Remastered dataminers found code that seems to hint at a Sony-branded PC launcher, similar to launchers from Ubisoft, Activision Blizzard, EA, and others.
This new site could be the first obvious sign that Sony plans to release such a launcher, although we should note that there is no mention of this on either the PlayStation site or its FAQ.
