We talk about Sonos again and if a few days ago we saw how they launched the second generation Sonos Beam and how they announced the support of Audi DTS for some of their speakers, now we have to talk about an update that comes to the Sonos S2 application and incidentally new functions with which it provides the loudspeaker Sonos Roam via firmware update.
Now the company has released an update for the S2 application, which can be downloaded both from the App Store for iOS, and from the Google Play Store for Android. An update that comes with bug fixes and improved performance and that comes in parallel with a firmware update for the Sonos Roam.
Lower battery consumption arrives
The Sonos S2 app update has been updated with bug fixes and improved performance and can be downloaded from the App Store and the Google Play Store. This is version 13.3 that can now be downloaded from the phone. But it is also that Sonos Roam speaker users will see a firmware update arrive.
An update of the phone software that among other improvements what it does is improve the autonomy since now the Sonos Roam consumes less battery when in sleep mode or not actively used.
Also, to get out of sleep mode, just use the playback controls, whereas before you had to use if or if the power button on the back to get out of sleep mode. On the other hand, now if a charger is used with the Sonos Roam that is not the correct one, the application offers a notification in the form of a warning so that we use the correct power supply.
Another new point that comes with this update is that it is now offers an improved stereo connection when using two Sonos Roam speakers. In case one is disconnected, it is automatically reestablished when we reconnect it.
The application update and firmware update for the Sonos Roam can now be downloaded directly from the mobile.
