The caricatured and virtual images of the metaverse will arrive at the space of the profile photo in WhatsApp. The company of Mark Zuckerberg, which previously announced that it was working on an avatar creator, is close to making it available to users.
Thus, instead of the ordinary photo for the presentation, an avatar will appear that represents you.
Let us remember that in the Metaverse, an idea promoted by Zuckerberg and Meta (former Facebook), the representations of the users are not real images, but caricatured. The interaction between people occurs directly between virtual identities.
It is a very attractive element, because it is different, as long as it is used in the best way and not like in this conversation between Zuckerberg and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, highly criticized on social networks.
In the next step proposed by WhatsApp, these images will serve as the profile picture of the messaging network.
WhatsApp avatars, “a new way of being yourself”
WABeta Info advanced some details about the way in which avatars will be created for WhatsApp, which the portal defines as “a new way of being yourself”.
The update will arrive for Android, iOS and the desktop version of the messaging network, and is currently in test mode still under development.
In a screenshot shown by the portal, you can see what the space will be like to create virtual images. You can also choose a background color for the profile avatar.
Please note that even if the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp beta for Android, The ability to set the avatar profile picture will also be available in WhatsApp beta for iOS and Desktop beta”, emphasizes WABeta Info.
It is not yet known when the WhatsApp function to create avatars will be officially launched, but according to WABeta Info, it would be for a “very distant future” as it is at an early stage of development.
