The Modern Warfare II Beta has allowed me to play quite a few hours to the new game of Call of Duty. While the entire community of players massacred in a thousand different ways in all the games, I was dedicated to testing things related to mobility and gunplay.
What things have been carried over from Modern Warfare I? What are the mobility improvements that were announced in Call of Duty Next? The good guys at Activision left a couple of very cool things in the pipeline.
Reload or Secondary Weapon? Finally a clear choice
Call of Duty has been teaching players for over a decade that switching to your secondary weapon is faster than reloading. And it would have been true if there wasn’t the Sleight of Hand perk, which allows you to reload your weapon faster.
The Modern Warfare I campaign reminded us of it again and it is likely to be repeated in Modern Warfare II… but with a capital difference: now it’s true. Switching to your secondary weapon is infinitely faster than any reload.
The soldier will now hold the primary weapon in their left hand, while drawing, firing, and holstering the pistol with their right. This position will break as soon as you run or reload the pistol. The animation is designed for cases of extreme need.
Ambush from the ledges
The presentation showed how war zone 2 Y Call of Duty Modern Warfare II you can hang from ledges and use the pistol (secondary weapon) to shoot your enemies. This is something very rare in the Call of Duty franchise, but it is not the first video game to do so.
It may seem like a bad idea, but using the ledges to hide and set up quick ganks is both fun and efficient. Most Call of Duty players are not used to being aware of the environment, they tend to run forward, shoot and do little else. The last thing they expect is shots coming from below.
Lean into corners and lean on ledges
One of the most useful mobility options in Modern Warfare and Warzone was lean on ledges and lean into corners. It allows you to expose yourself less to enemy fire and reduces the recoil of the weapon. Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2 have this feature again (first point video). Unless there are changes for the final game, it remains exactly the same.
It’s not a very useful feature in modes like Team Deathmatch, where players run around like a headless chicken changing respawns every two times three, but it’s really useful in modes like Knockout, where you only have one life per round and you have to cover very large areas. concrete.
The thing is about doors: open, close, ajar…
Another option of Modern Warfare II Y war zone 2, which was already in Modern Warfare I and Warzone is to open doors ajar to shoot through the gap. It doesn’t have much of a mystery: follow the directions on the controls (Square on PlayStation) to open or close it a crack. Be careful when recharging.
Again, not very useful for modes like Team Deathmatch, but for Knockout. Opening the door slowly or shooting through the doorway allows you to remain undetected and see the enemy earlier respectively. You have to have a very good eye to detect this, although be careful because the bullets go through the wooden doors.
Change the FOV: a new way to play for console users
One of the best novelties regarding console gameplay is the possibility of increase the FOV or field of view. ¡Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Y war zone 2 They already have the option to increase the FOV on consoles, PlayStation and Xbox! It’s a bit sad to have to celebrate this in 2022.
This completely changes the gameplay. Having a larger visual field means seeing more around you. The image showing the game options makes it very clear to what extent increase FOV Gives you vision advantage. If you decide to increase it, remember to readjust the sensitivity of the camera when moving your head and aiming your weapons.
Other details and improvements in Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2
- die and reappear in Team Duel it is very fast, and even more so when you decide to jump the “kill cam” or death camera. It maintains the same system as Battlefield: the camera goes up and you reappear while the camera goes down.
- Walking, jogging and sprinting: Keep the system of walking, running normal without limit and sprinting for a limited time and with the weapon raised.
- new executionsmore brutal and visceral.
- Possibility to play in Third person to Modern Warfare II with First Person aiming.
- Climb walls and obstacles it’s much faster, and allows you to shoot sooner thanks to shorter animations.
- The Kill Streaks they are the classic ones with some new features: UAV, Bomb Drone, Response UAV, Cluster Mine, Support Package, Precision Air Strike, Cruise Missile, Mortar Strike, Sentinel Turret, EAE, VTOL Fighter, Combat Helicopter, Wheelson, Stealth Bombing, Helicopter Gunner, Emergency Launch, Gunship, Advanced UAV and Juggernaut.
- The time-to-kill either TTK (the speed at which you die and kill) is very fast in Modern Warfare II multiplayer. Warzone 2 will be a bit slower thanks to projection plates.
- I remind you that the water combat has been improved and includes physics for all weapons, including throwables. Weapon ballistics are affected by water and will take into account the caliber of the weapon. Throwing a throwable into the water has the same effect as in real life.
Mobility has improved in every way, while the gun play remains very similar to what was seen in Modern Warfare I Y war zone. the shotguns in Modern Warfare II they shoot serpentine… Bethesda is still the only one that knows how to treat a shotgun the way it deserves. Weapons have more weight and recoil, though I haven’t been able to unlock all the attachments I’d like.
