Netflix has taken a definitive step in Spain to end the practice of sharing accounts. If you have decided that, instead of unsubscribing from the service, you want to continue using it with friends and family who do not live with you, you will have to pay an extra 6 euros per user from now on. But how exactly is this done? Here we leave you one step-by-step guide to sharing your Netflix account with people who do not live with you.
The number of subaccounts to hire depends on the plan you have on Netflix. With the Standard plan, only you can share your Netflix account with an additional user. In case of having the Premium plan, this amount rises to both users extra. Of course, if you have the basic plan with ads, you can’t access any of these options, since it only allows you to view one screen at a time.
The price of the extra subaccount will be added to the total paid by the account holder. Thus, 12.99 euros per month will be charged for the standard account, or 17.99 euros for the premium account, plus 5.99 euros for each of the extra users:
- Standard without subaccounts: 12.99 euros / month.
- Standard with a subaccount for non-residents: 18.98 euros / month.
- Premium without subaccounts: 17.99 euros / month.
- Premium with a sub-account for non-cohabitants: 23.98 euros / month.
- Premium with two sub-accounts for non-cohabitants: 29.97 euros / month.
First step. From your browser, log in in your Netflix account. When you are on the main screen, tap on the profile image at the top right. Look for the option Account And enter.
Second step. Your Netflix personal information will open. Here, scroll down to the section extra subscribersjust below security and privacy. Tap the blue text to the right where it reads Buy an extra subscriber pass.
Third step. A new screen will open where Netflix details how this feature works. The first thing that counts is that the extra subscriber will have their own account and password in the service. Furthermore, you will be able to use an existing profile or create a completely new one. Of course, even if he does not live with you, he must be in the same country as you, and you will need to provide a phone number to verify it.

Fourth step. Netflix will confirm the final price of your subscription and how it will look after adding the extra user. If you are satisfied, tap on Start extra subscriber.

Fifth step. Choose if you want the extra subscriber to use an existing profile in your Netflix account, or if you want to add a completely new one for their personal use.

sixth step. In this window you will have to write the name of the person you want to add to your Netflix account, along with their email. Lastly, write your name.

All login information will be sent to the email you provided for that person. From here, it is up to him or her to enter and fill in the data that Netflix requires to complete the extra subscription to its service.
Once ready, Netflix will create a new section in your account settings. Here you can manage all subscribed subaccounts. In this way, you have tools to quickly cancel the subscription pass, or add another person in case you have the plan premium from service.
