The used car is the first purchase option among the Spanish

New car sales continue to show significant signs of weakness and a growing number of drivers continue to turn to the used market due to economic uncertainty and the immediate future of the combustion car in Europe.
With regard to sales by age groups, the data reported shows how the shortage of microchips has caused demand to shift towards models from fleets, where there was supply. The lack of stock of pre-owned cars is still important.
Faced with the generalized falls in all age groups, the Used cars between three and five years old stood out with a rise of 10.4% in July compared to 2019 and they were the ones that fell the least in 2020 with a decline of only 12.2%. Renting has been the sales channel that has fallen the least in July.
