The Pirate Clash DLC has been one of the biggest surprises since the launch of Sea of Thieves. The arrival of Jack Sparrow and the Black Pearl to the seas of the game has been one of the most successful crossovers in recent years, introducing new missions and characters from the film saga.
It seems that the crossover has been truly successful for the title, since in June Sea of Thieves Nears 5 Million Active Players Thanks to Pirates of the Caribbean DLC.

The information has been shared by Rare through the Sea of Thieves Official Website, where they have commented that this third season and the arrival of the Pirate Clash DLC have led to the month with the highest number of active players since the game’s launch, reaching the figure of 4.8 million consecutive players.
The company wanted to thank all the players for their support, and they hope that “Pirate Clash has been everything you wanted from a crossover of this scale.”

Congratulations news for both Rare and all fans of the pirate title. The company is currently working on Everwild, its next game. Nonetheless, it appears that recurring issues over the title focus and employee departure could be holding up its development.
