Kino Lorber Classics studio reveals a special edition of the classic The silence of the lambs (1991).
Horror fans hungry to get the classics in 4K Ultra HD will be happy to know that Kino Lorber Studio Classics launches a special edition of The silence of the lambs (1991), by Jonathan Demme. The new release comes with enough extras to satisfy the most discerning palate, served on two discs seasoned with Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter and Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling.
The Silence of the Lambs was the film responsible for turning the cannibal doctor Hannibal Lecter into a pop culture symbol, thanks to Hopkins’ chilling portrayal of the killer. Based on the best-selling novel by Thomas Harris, the film depicts the complicated relationship between a young FBI agent (Foster) and an incarcerated serial killer (Hopkins) who work together to catch a dangerous criminal who has been abducting women.
The Silence of the Lambs it was nominated for seven Academy Awards, taking home five Oscar statuettes, including Best Picture, Best Director for Demme, and Best Adapted Screenplay for writer Ted Tally. Both Hopkins and Foster were also awarded Best Actor and Actress.
The new 4K edition, made by Kino to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Silence of the Lambs, will be available on October 19. See the full list of extras included in the special edition below:
