Most of the layers of customization that manufacturers “add” to Android include advertising in the apps that have the terminals pre-installed, even in the Phone app, as we have seen in Samsung’s One UI. Precisely to users of Galaxy devices, we have already told you on occasion how to reduce those ads that the South Korean firm shows on their mobiles.
Now, it seems that Samsung has decided directly remove advertising in Samsung Pay, your mobile payment system, and remove the ads of your products or services in native applications, such as the weather app or the theme app. At least that’s what mobile device chief TM Roh has communicated to company employees, according to Maeil Business News.
Goodbye ads with an update
South Korean media Maeil Business News assures that, during a “public meeting,” Samsung’s head of mobile devices, TM Roh, told employees that the company have decided to remove the ads of the pre-installed Samsung applications.
In response to an employee’s question about the advertisements that appear in the pre-installed applications, TM Roh replied “We have decided to remove the advertisements from basic apps like Weather, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Themes“The outlet also claims that Roh said the ads would be removed through One UI software updates.
At the moment, it is not clear if this will happen. in the next big update or later, or which applications it will definitely affect. It is also not known if this change will be limited to Korea or if it will also apply to other countries, hopefully it will be global.
