“95% of cervical cancer has its origin in the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and it is necessary to mention that this cancer is preventable if detected early,” said Diana Calva, founding director of laboratories at Salud Digna.
The specialist stressed that the HPV test and the Pap smear will only require a sample with PCR methodology and that with the help of Roche technology, it gives effective results.
Salud Digna highlighted that the average cost of a study of this type is an average of 2,500 pesos, which will be an incentive for women to take care of their health.
Salud Digna performs an average of 11,000 monthly tests, of which 24% come out positive for HPV. The alliance with BBVA includes that it will pay half the cost of each of the tests that are carried out.
The laboratory expects that in 2023 it will receive more than 15 million clients, from the 11.7 million it received last year.
How can I have a free study?
Women who wish to receive care and prevent cervical cancer should schedule their appointment starting June 5 on the Salud Digna page (www.salud-digna.org/papanicolau) and find their nearest branch.
The promotion applies from June 5 to December 31 of this year.
If the HPV result is positive, a Salud Digna social worker will contact you with your social security clinic or with associations that can support you in treatment.
