In the current One-Punch Man story arc it has opened a debate about the limits of Saitama’s power, however to resolve it… this article will contain spoilers from the last chapter of the manga. If you want to read it on your own, you can do it at Viz Averageso you don’t miss any of this interesting twist in the story.
Until now, we had seen how Garou, the former hero, became a fearsome monster capable of being the final weapon against Saitama, but part of the fandom speculated that this would be another trick of ONE and Murata to make the same joke. However, One-Punch Man Chapter 163 begins shortly after Garou unlocks a “Cosmic Fear Mode” that grants him the power of the divine entity that we have seen in the Monster Association Saga so far.
This evil entity quickly takes over Garou’s body and unleashes a series of attacks that even take Saitama by surprise. They have given nuclear power boosts to their punches, and can even copy our protagonist’s moves entirely, to the point where he ended up with his foot in the rear and noted that he even received a “scratch” in the process. It seems that, finally, an antagonist will be able to face the unstoppable power of the well-known hero.
Naturally, he is still far from beating Saitama, nor is this fight likely to give him the challenge he really hoped for, but he’s the closest thing to a worthy opponent Saitama has had in the series to date. In fact, Garou’s nuclear blasts manage to overwhelm Saitama before the chapter comes to an end. The rest of the heroes will have to deal with this new Garou until Saitama returns to the fight, and Garou has technically already taken several hits from the hero, so now we will see even more of Saitama’s inner strengths to overcome him.
One-Punch Man Shows Us That Saitama Might Finally Have An Enemy To Fear
Apparently, One-Punch Man has finally given Saitama a fight that he can’t end with a single punch with the newest chapter in the series. While the main comedic draw of the series is seeing how Saitama is easily undone Of many of the series’ monstrous foes over the course of his run thus far, there have been a few occasions where the hero has been able to harness something approaching his strength. But he’s always dreamed of a fight where he could potentially cut loose, and the climax of this story arc has delivered this opportunity directly to him.
The series originally teased that Saitama and Garou made a deal instead of fighting, the previous chapter now started their fight at high speed as Garou now has a god level of strength. As shown with the newest chapter of the series, Garou has become such a strong being that he even has Saitama struggling to find a suitable counterattack.
