Close to the first corner, the single-seaters of Pierre Gasly (AlphaTauri), George Russell (Mercedes) and Zhou Guanyu (Alfa Romeo) came into contact.
Zhou Guanyu’s car finished its race on the other side of the security barriers, against the fences that separate the track from the spectators.
Later, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) reported that the drivers involved in the accident did not have any serious injuries.
