We know that when it comes to money, Microsoft not afraid to throw the house out the window. From colossal acquisitions, to bringing games day one to Xbox Game Pass, it is clear that the signature of Redmond has a lot of capital in the bank. So we shouldn’t be surprised to learn that the temporary exclusivity of Rise of the Tomb Raider cost them $ 100 million when it was released in Xbox One past 2015.
VGC reported that in the profile of LinkedIn of Fabien Rossini, former director of corporate development at Square Enix, it was revealed how much the temporary exclusivity of Rise of the Tomb Raider while the executive worked in the company. She was quickly removed from the profile, but of course the internet managed to capture the evidence.
Rise of the Tomb Raider exclusivity deal with Microsoft was worth $ 100 million.

Although it sounds like a huge figure, it is not as far-fetched as you might believe. After all, it is similar to that Epic games paying to Gearbox for the temporary exclusivity of Borderlands 3 on the Epic Games Store on PC.
