Private Division and Roll7 today announced the release of Rollerdrome for August 16, 2022 as a digital download for PS4, PS5 and PC.
In this single-player third-person shooter, skaters will be thrilled as the fluid movements and colorful mechanics of skateboarding fuse with the frenetic action of shooters. This original video game, hybrid shooter-skateris set in a dark dystopian retro-future under the development of Roll7, creators of the acclaimed OlliOlli World and authors of its immersive gameplay.
rollerdrome presents a particular retro-futuristic universe with a unique personality. The comic book-inspired art style is brought to life with an all-new original soundtrack. Well-known musical artist of the Darksynth genre, Electric Dragon, fuses textures and sounds of the 70s with current rhythms and cutting-edge production to offer an impressive environment.
The game is set in 2030, in a world where the public is kept distracted from an increasingly sinister political situation with the violence and excesses of a brutal new arena sport: Rollerdrome. The line between reality and spectacle in this bloody sport is blurred. Participants must compete in various Challenge-type series against the deadly local pros. Competitors in this bloodthirsty show fight to get the highest score possible by eliminating their rivals and executing shocking tricks while overcoming numerous challenges.
Players will embody skater Kara Hassan, a newcomer to this ruthless sport. As the mysteries of a twisted major tech corporation unfold, Kara and the player will have to stay focused on their goal: climb the ranks to victory in the next Rollerdrome championship.
