“While we were looking to harness the prestige of winning a World Championship, there was only one partner with whom we aspired to collaborate on the Summoner’s Cup. Tiffany & Co is a brand with history and the quintessential designer of the world’s best sports cups.”
“It’s an honor to partner with them to celebrate our world champions past, present and future.” Since 1860, Tiffany & Co. has been the premier brand in creating timeless handcrafted trophies that represent the pinnacle of athletic success in a variety of professional sports, including soccer, basketball and baseball.
The LoL Esports Summoner’s Cup will now accompany other iconic esports championship trophies, including the LoL Pro League Silver Dragon Cup, also designed and handcrafted by Tiffany & Co. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of LoL Esports in China, the Silver Dragon Cup incorporated prized items from previous LPL legends, as well as pieces from the original Silver Dragon Cup.
Co-creating the new Summoner’s Cup, which weighs 50 pounds and measures roughly 27 inches, involved an extensive creative process between LoL Esports and Tiffany & Co. The modern design took a total of four months to bring to life, which is equal to 277 hours of labor by the House’s skilled craftsmen who have created more than 65 trophies each year in their Cumberland, Rhode Island craft shop.
Employing tools and techniques dating back to the mid-19th century, along with cutting-edge innovations, the latest sterling silver masterpiece reflects Tiffany’s long heritage of extraordinary craftsmanship.
“We are excited to continue our collaboration with League of Legends Esports and have the opportunity to be part of the evolution of the world’s most popular esports brand,” said Alexandre Arnault, executive vice president of product and communications for Tiffany & Co.
“The creation of the Summoner’s Cup is another important milestone for Tiffany in the world of esports and also an exciting new chapter in our 160-year legacy of crafting sports trophies by hand.” The League of Legends World Championship returns to North America for the first time since 2016, as well as resuming its multi-city tour format after a two-year hiatus.
