Diablo II: Resurrected It is finally here, and although the vast majority are excited for its launch, we must also take into account that the title will lack certain functions and modes that are present in other modern experiences. Like for example, how to play co-op locally.
To begin with, it was revealed that Diablo II: Resurrected It will not have a local co-op mode, that is, if you want to play with a friend you must do it completely online. What is this about? Rob Gallerani, director of game design, recently spoke with the portal Vandal, where he explained the reason behind this decision.
“The challenge is that Diablo 2 is programmed assuming the character is in the center of the screen. There are a lot of things in the game that assume that, and when you change it, other things start to break down.
For example, when you die in Diablo 2, your body and all your things are left on the ground, and you go back to the village, so you have to go back and find your body. “
So there you have it, the reason basically is due to complications about scheduling the title. We do not know if they may change their minds in the future, but at least now, the option to play local co-op will not be available.
Diablo II: Resurrected is now available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
