Repairing the back of an iPhone 14 will be cheaper than repairing the back of an iPhone 13, despite the fact that both have exactly the same appearance. According to iFixitthe new interior redesign of the latest iPhone model makes removing the rear glass cover much easier, thus reducing the cost of the components required for the change and, in turn, the price of the repair, cheaper than last year’s model.

This is because, in the iPhone 14, the outer glass is not glued to the motherboard, as it is in the iPhone 13. Therefore, it is possible to extract the glass independently. In last year’s model, on the other hand, if the back broke and the user wanted to change it, the technician had to change a large part of the internal components as well, thus increasing the cost of the parts and, therefore, of the repair.

In fact, Apple’s own website shows a price reduction in the repair of the rear glass of the iPhone 14. Repairing this area, specifically, costs 199 euros (or 29 euros with Apple Care +) in the case of the base model. Repairing the same damage to an iPhone 13, on the other hand, costs about 538.99 euros if you do not have the insurance offered by Apple, well, remember, in this model it is not possible to change only the rear glass.

This important change also also applies to iPhone 14 Plus, because the price of repairing the rear of this model is 229 euros. Although it is higher compared to the iPhone 14, it is a considerably lower price than what it costs to repair the back of the iPhone 13.

Repairing the back of an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max is not so cheap

The ‘Pro’ models of the iPhone 14 series they also have this advantage over the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, although repairing the back is not so cheap. The repair price of this component in the iPhone 14 Pro, for example, is 599 euros, while repairing the back of the iPhone 14 Pro Max costs 669 euros.

Now, as in the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max it is also not possible to change only the rear glass, the repair price is 659 euros and 729 euros respectively. All this, remember, if you do not have Apple Care +, in which case the repair would have a price of 29 euros in addition to the monthly plan.
