More fair wages outside of big cities
A report from Pave, provider of big datafound a reduction in the wage gap between the various cities in the United States, thanks to remote work.
The study is focused on the sector of software engineers and basically says that between 2019 and the third quarter of 2021, the gap between salaries was reduced from 18.1% to only 5.9%, between the most expensive and cheapest cities. In other words, engineers who live in cities far from the big technology centers are accessing increasingly better salaries thanks to remote work.
These data, beyond what Elon Musk argues against remote work, show the benefits of working at home for both workers and companies, at least in some sectors.
