In June 2019 the first season of Euphoria, an HBO youth drama starring Zendaya which became a mass phenomenon. The zetas made up like their protagonists, critics fell in love with its aesthetics and anyone who had seen the series fell in love with its story and the way it was told.
More than two years have passed and, although a couple of special chapters fell this past Christmas, The highly anticipated second season of this hit series has yet to be released. Even so, we already have a lot of data about what awaits us in Euphoria, and we will tell you everything.
When does the second season of Euphoria
After the filming of season 2 of Euphoria was paralyzed by the coronavirus, it finally resumed in spring 2021, which leaves us the premiere for early 2022.
The cast of season 2 of Euphoria
The series developed by Sam Levinson will continue to star Zendaya and Hunter Schaffer, although we already know some new faces that will join the cast of the first season in which we also met Austin Abrams, Algee Smith, Sydney sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbara Ferreira, Eric Dane and Jacob Elordi among others.
They are joined by three new faces: singer-songwriter Dominic Fike; Minka Kelly, who we got to see in Titans; and Demetrius ‘Lil Meech’ Flenory Jr, the son of Black Mafia founder Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory.
The plot of season two
Although the synopsis for season 2 of Euphoria, yes there are many cast statements stating that this second part will be insane. Jacob Elordi stated on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show that fans “should expect a crazy second season and a completely different show.” For his part Sam Levinson has assured that “it is a brutal season”.
“It’s going to be tough and it’s going to be devastating at times, but I think Rue deserves all the care and love because she represents so much to a large number of people.” Zendaya explained in an interview. “I don’t think this season is easy. It’s not going to be fun, “he said.
Let’s assume that (watch out, if you haven’t seen the first season, don’t keep reading, SPOILER is coming) the first season left Rue heartbroken after Jules left. It is inevitable that this second season will explore that relationship and everything that surrounds it.
The trailer for season 2 of Euphoria
During the 2021 Emmy, HBO Max released a trailer for their upcoming content featuring two new and very short scenes from season 2 of Euphoria. In one of them Rue is shown in a corridor and in the other Jules dressed as Frida Kahlo and with a drawing of Rue’s face on her forehead.
To our misfortune there is no trailer yet for the second season of Euphoria, but Zendaya shared on Instagram account a small teaser that continued the scene of the advance that HBO Max gave, in which we can glimpse something of what is to come:
