Within the framework of “MundoCrypto Metaverse Day”, an event that took place at the WiZink Center in Madrid, Spain, Xavier Molina from FTX, and Eneko Astorkiza from KuCoin, spoke about Exchanges and Metaverse. The moderation of the panel was in charge of Pilar Troncoso.
The talk began precisely with definitions of what the metaverse is. In this context, Eneko Astorkiza said: “The metaverse was always considered something of science fiction”: But later he clarified: “Something that was unreal until now is being real.” And then he remarked that exchanges are an important part of this.
For his part, Xavier Molina explained that stores now have virtual premises in the metaverse. And he noted: “Exchanges can serve as payment gateways for people to purchase things, such as NFTs.”
“They can be a place in the metaverse where users exchange cryptocurrencies, tokens, NFTS,” he added.
According to Astorkiza, web3 is “a complicated world” and that is why users must be left with “something comprehensive and simple”.
Then, Pilar Troncoso intervened saying: “Training is essential”.

Molina continued: “It is important to educate people. In the case of FTX we have what we call FTX University, with university ambassadors, who give talks, collaborate with institutions, etc”. And in addition, he said that they have a free academy.
Astorkiza talked about bringing people closer to cryptocurrencies in a simple way. “KuCoin has started to develop different tools, its own blockchain, integration of NFTs, etc. For people to enter easily from a unified platform. We are preparing courses. There is no public environment yet, but we are working on it, ”she specified.
Molina added that “it is important to make user-friendly products for users.”
Fight against ignorance and misinformation
Astorkiza reflected, mentioning issues that he considers important, such as compliance. He later said: “There are a number of regulations in Europe that are not clear or fair. It’s something we all have to work on to improve.”
“People need training. There are a lot of untrained people entering the world of crypto doing things they shouldn’t be doing. There are different factors that you need to know.
And besides, there are many frauds and scams. Among all the exchanges and crypto pools we have to unite to fight against it”, he added..
On the other hand, Molina also said that disinformation is a very important problem. “It can be reversed and you have to protect the user,” she concluded..
