The Xiaomi Mi 11 is the world’s first smartphone with Snapdragon 888, but it won’t be alone for long as the only Chinese phone with Qualcomm’s powerful chipset. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi K40 with Snapdragon 888 is on the way, and not only that but it will be its cheapest flagship to date with the new gem from Qualcomm.
Lu Weibing, Managing Director of Redmi, revealed on Weibo the details of the next launch of Xiaomi’s sister brand: the Redmi K40 will have the Snapdragon 888 inside and will be presented in China next February. However, the most important thing about the publication is that its price of 2,999 yuan is also revealed, equivalent to approximately 463 dollars, an almost unbeatable price for the maximum power of the current market.
To get more into context, making the conversion of the Redmi K40 with Snapdragon 888 will cost approximately 9,300 Mexican pesos to change, at the time of making this post.
According to the image accompanying the publication, the Redmi K40 will have, apart from the Snapdragon 888, a 4,000 mAh battery and a premium flat screen. They are scarce, but important details. Unfortunately for all the information, we will have to wait for the presentation next month, that if the leaks do not make theirs ahead of time.
Redmi’s high-end family has a long history and fame. It was the Redmi K20 Pro, known in the international market as Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, that started it all, followed in 2020 by the Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom, presented to the world outside of China as the POCO F2 Pro. If we consider this trajectory of bringing maximum power, and striking features, to the high-end with a mid-range price, we can expect a more than competitive Redmi K40.
That is, we just have to remember that the price of the base version of the Xiaomi Mi 11, with all the power of the Snapdragon 888, starts at 3,999 yuan, equivalent to around a striking $ 618. And this price will be improved on the Redmi K40, although surely sacrificing some other aspects. We will see what Xiaomi prepares.
