According to data provided by “We are Social”, it is estimated that there is currently a digital community of approximately 5 billion Internet users worldwide, of which, it has been anticipated that just over 4 million have with an active profile within one of the different digital platforms.
It is worth mentioning that it is thanks to the forced social distancing that the Internet user base grew significantly, this due to the large number of tasks that today can be carried out within these platforms, even linking Internet users to go to the creators of content on traditional search engines like Google.

Within the wide range of digital platforms; Reddit is a website, platform and application for mobile devices that aims to be a news repository where users are the ones who choose the central topics of the conversation through votes.
However, like any digital platform, it is exposed to cybersecurity attacks, since according to what has been indicated by specialized media, it is estimated that during the past year, Mexico was the victim of at least 80 million cyberattacks.

According to what has been indicated, it was through an official publication that Reddit explained that a few hours ago the company suffered an attack via a very sophisticated phishing campaign. This means that the criminal or group of criminals sent links to employees who appeared to be trustworthy and official, but in reality only tricked them into obtaining their sensitive information or passwords. It was enough for an employee to fall for the deception for him or the criminals to obtain limited access to the reddit servers.
