After 20 years since one piece first appeared in which anime jumped onto the screen, the Straw Hat pirates have reached a new level, that’s why Luffy and the gang have seen fans through their adventures, and their next journey is on the horizon, for after all, One Piece: Red It will arrive soon in Latin America, and the producer of the film, Shinji Shimizu, answered some of the doubts of the fans.
This was during an interview with the producer during Anime Expo this month, where Shimizu explained his love for One Piece, as well as part of the great history of anime and why the movie Red has become his favorite movie in the franchise, so if you are one of the many fans who have been with One Piece since the anime began and have seen the series evolve over the years, you will understand the importance of this moment.
And you are, were the statements of Shimizu Shinji: “When One Piece was first serialized, it immediately shot to the top of Shonen Jump’s manga line. When an anime for One Piece got underway, I was asked to go and oversee the series, and I may be a bit biased because I was heavily involved on the production side, but the Arabasta arc is my favorite. The battle between Luffy and Crocodile was great.”
“Red is my favourite, of course, after that I would say I really enjoy Dead End Adventure. So with One Piece: Red, the biggest difference with this movie is that Oda-sensei really wanted to have a female character, so that’s something I would say sets her apart. That’s honestly one of the biggest differentiating factors, I’d say.”
“What I believe is that One Piece is going to be one of the biggest and best comic book franchises on the market once it has completed its final arc. I say this because I talked to Oda-sensei and he hinted at the direction where the manga is going. This series is something that has been serialized with their TV anime, of course.”
“There is a manga release once a week. So the idea that it’s going to end, we’re really going to savor that final arc together, leave the fans with the best comic the market has ever seen. There will be many surprising themes and choices. But I can’t tell you more!”
