They also have a citrus flavor, which brings them closer to souran earlier family of cocktails from which these undoubtedly come.
From among the fizzythe most famous cocktail is the Gin Fizz which is made, obviously, with gin. In addition to soda, lemon or lime juice and, like almost all cocktails, a little sugar, in the form of syrup. There are many variants, the most famous being the Tom Collins, which is still a type of gin fizz.
If we are purists, the gin fizz should be served in a medium tumbler glass, a tall glass, similar to the traditional Spanish cup, but somewhat wider. In your absence, we can serve it in any kind of tall glass.
The preparation of this cocktail is very simple, but it is important to prepare it in a cocktail shaker. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add 22 ml of lemon or lime juice, 22 ml of simple syrup (which we have made by mixing equal parts boiling water with sugar) and 60 ml of gin.
Mix well and serve in a long glass, to which we add 30 ml of soda at the end. Decorate with a slice of lemon and we serve immediately.
