The engines of the new Renault Austral
Regarding the mechanical section, the new Austral bets without complexes on electrification. Renault proposes a selection of 12-volt mild hybrid technology (MHEV) petrol engines and at power levels of 140 hp and 160 hp. The options most committed to sustainable mobility go through the self-charging hybrid technology (HEV). Two are available HEV engines with 160 hp and 200 hp
respectively.
Depending on the chosen engine, we will find a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the protagonist, but there will also be all-wheel drive engines in the range. All engines, being electrified with MHEV or HEV systems, sport the ECO environmental label from the DGT (General Directorate of Traffic) with all the mobility advantages that this entails.
