Apple has presented the new iPhone 14 and 14 Pro. And, as many of us feared, despite the fact that US prices have remained stable, in Europe they have skyrocketed. Enough to notice the generational change from last year’s more expensive models, the 13 Pro and Pro Max.
In general, these are the ones that have risen the most in price, but they are also the ones that have received the most novelties, such as the new island system that replaces the notchthe improvements in the camera system or the new chip, exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro.
Be that as it may, taking as a reference the prices of the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro in Spain, which are extensible to the rest of the surrounding countries that use the euro, the most expensive iPhone, the Pro, have risen on average between 14 and 15% its price compared to the same models of last year, leaving the price settings as follows:
iPhone 14 and 14 Pro: prices in Spain
128GB | 256GB | 512GB | 1TB | |
iPhone 14 | €1,009 | €1,139 | €1,339 | – |
iPhone 14Plus | €1,159 | 1,289 | €1,549 | – |
iPhone 14 Pro | €1,319 | €1,449 | €1,709 | €1,969 |
iPhone 14 ProMax | €1,469 | €1,599 | €1,859 | €2,119 |
As we can see, the price increase is generalized throughout the entire portfolio of new iPhones, with the exception of the iPhone 14 Plus, which did not exist last year and for which, logically, we have no reference to compare (beyond the old Plus which Apple abandoned in the transition to Face ID).
Be that as it may, at least the reference is 128GB for the base models, something interesting for the iPhone 14, but they seem somewhat short compared to the price increase of the Pro, which would be more logical than the older model cheap boot with at least 256GB.
All in all, the confirmation of the price increase, before the PS5, now of the iPhone (and the new AirPods Pro that go up to 300 euros) anticipate that the European markets will have a little more complicated to get hold of the new products compared to other markets where prices have remained stable.
